Infrared Sauna
Infrared saunas use infrared radiation to directly heat the body. Infrared radiation is a sort of invisible light that may heat the tissues beneath the skin. Infrared saunas normally run at lower temperatures, ranging from 110 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Infrared saunas release radiant heat from specialist infrared heaters. This heat immediately enters the body, raising core temperature and promoting perspiration while not considerably warming the air within the sauna. Infrared saunas provide benefits that include detoxifying, weight loss, relaxation, muscle recovery, and anti-aging.
Infrared Health Benefits
Weight Loss &
Increased Metabolism
According to the Journal Of the American Medical Association, regular use of saunas mimics a similar boost on the cardiovascular system as does running. As you relax in the gentle infrared heat, your body is at work producing sweat, pumping blood, and burning calories. As your body increases sweat production to cool itself, your heart works harder to pump blood at a greater rate to boost circulation. This increase in your metabolism can aid your body in burning calories. New studies have shown that infrared therapy can aid the body in releasing environmental toxins stored in fat tissues that can prevent weight loss.
Muscle Pain Relief
Using an infrared sauna as intended for part of a healthy lifestyle promotes increase in blood flow to muscles. Muscles relax best when tissues are warm for greater flexibility and range of motion. Far infrared heat may help relieve muscle tension by increasing the thermal energy in your muscles.
Ease Joint pain & stiffness
Infrared heat can ease joint pain and stiffness, through increased thermal energy to the joints. Increased thermal energy may reduce stiffness and increase range of motion.
Mental Health
Just a few minutes in the gentle warmth of an infrared sauna will help you feel relaxed, rejuvenated and renewed. The endorphin release of a sweat session is not just good for physical health. It also improves mental health, too. Hormones like dopamine and serotonin are released through sweating leaving you feeling happier.
Improved Sleep
Our bodies regulate sleep through a chemical process managed by our brain, activated by our circadian rhythm. When that process is disrupted health issues may arise like stress, sleep apnea, restless leg, and depression.
Color Therapy
What is Chromotherapy?
Chromotherapy casts colors into the sauna with a balancing effect on the body. Chromotherapy benefits include physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual healing. With regular infrared sauna colors you can help balance your body’s energy.

Balances 4th chakra located at the heart center in and around the sternum. The body’s healing seat to reset circadian rhythms, relax muscles, detox organs, and stimulate tissue regeneration. Here is where love and forgiveness of self and others originates.
Blue
Balances 5th / throat chakra to improve verbal communication, articulation and understanding. Produces a cooling, calming effect in the body to counteract worry, reduce over excitement, modulate hyperactivity, and calm various throat conditions.

FAQs
Commonly asked questions:
What is the difference between an Infrared vs Traditional Sauna?
The main difference between infrared saunas and traditional saunas is how they use heat. Traditional saunas use a single heater that is heating the air. In contrast, infrared saunas use advanced therapy to promote heat generation in the body with only a small percentage of the heat heating the air. This results in a deeper sweat and at a lower ambient air temperature. In fact, infrared saunas usually operate between 115 degrees - 140 degrees. Traditional saunas can get up to 195 degrees.
Infrared sauna proponents argue that the deeper heat penetration can help the release of toxins held in fat cells, resulting in improved detoxification. Sweating in an infrared sauna may detox more heavy metals and pollutants than sweating in a traditional sauna.
Can Infrared Saunas help my mental health?
Not surprisingly, saunas can help reduce anxiety and stress. Several studies have shown that regular sauna use can lower levels of cortisol, your body’s main stress hormone. Sweating increases relaxation, which reduces feelings of anxiety and stress. The warmth generated by an infrared sauna can help loosen tight muscles and relax tense nerves while increasing circulation in the body. As a result, this helps to reduce tension and promote feelings of calmness.
Are Infrared Saunas dangerous?
Many studies have looked at using infrared saunas in the treatment of long-lasting health problems and found proof that saunas are beneficial. Conditions studied include high blood pressure, heart failure, dementia and Alzheimer's disease, headache, type 2 diabetes, and arthritis. But larger and more-exact studies are needed to prove these results.
Currently, no harmful effects have been reported with infrared saunas.
How much time should be spent in the sauna?
For first-time users, start with 10 to 15 minutes. You can add time each session until you reach the suggested time of 20 to 30 minutes. You don't want to stay in there too long and risk becoming dehydrated.
What should I wear?
Wear what makes you comfortable! But be prepared to get sweat on it. We recommend less layers. Bathing suits, workout clothes or whatever you’d like. We will provide cool towels. You will have time before and after to get undressed and dressed again.
How much water should you drink?
Pre Sauna water in take should be at least 8 oz (.24 L). This will help prepare your body for an increase in core temperature.
Post Sauna you should drink at least 24 oz (.7 L). This will help restore the water that you lost.
What can I do in the Sauna?
We have a TV set up to the sauna, with Netflix so you can watch your favorite shows! You can also use it as time to meditate, listen to music, read a good book or visit with friends. You can spend this time however you would like!
